The NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum is our overall pick for regular intermediate and advanced players who want one racket for defence and attack. For a first racket, begin with the lower-cost NOX X-Zero. The rackets in detail

1. Best overall

NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum (2026)

In stock

NOX AT10 Genius 18K Alum 2026 padel racket
We would start with the AT10 if you play regularly and want one racket for defending, building a point and attacking. NOX describes a medium touch and positions it for varied play, making it a broader starting point than the firm Bela Pro. Removable weights also give you some room to adjust the setup. Retailer Padelshop's court review favoured its handling and versatility over outright smash power. We would choose it for that mix, with more specialised options below.

Best for: Intermediate and advanced players who mix patient rallies with attacking play.

Consider another option if: You want your first racket, much less weight or a very hard contact.

Main trade-off: This is a standard-weight adult racket; compare Air Vertuo if reducing weight comes first.

2. Best for beginners

NOX X-Zero Blue (2026)

In stock

NOX X-Zero Blue 2026 padel racket
X-Zero is where we would start for a first owned racket. It combines a round head and soft HR3 White EVA with a 350–360 g range, below the standard X-One's published range. It also covers the lower-cost end of this list. Compare X-Hero before buying: its main published construction matches, so the delivered price is a better reason to choose between them than a claim that one will improve your game more.

Best for: Beginners and occasional players buying a straightforward first adult racket.

Consider another option if: You already know you prefer a firm feel or more weight.

Main trade-off: Choose it for learning and regular rallies; a soft response will not suit every experienced player.

3. Best for intermediate players

Babolat Air Veron 2.6 (2026)

In stock

Babolat Air Veron 2.6 2026 Racket product photograph supplied by the retailer
Air Veron is our intermediate pick for someone who values handling and wants to try a different setup from a basic starter racket. We prefer its even balance to Coello Team's high balance as a starting point for that player. CarbonFlex combines carbon and fibreglass in the face. Compare the lighter Air Vertuo if weight is the main reason for changing; choose Veron after a trial if you prefer its response. Check your overhead timing as well as your volleys.

Best for: Intermediate players who put handling ahead of a heavy attacking setup.

Consider another option if: You prefer pronounced head weight or want the lightest of the two Air models here.

Main trade-off: Its appeal is the handling-focused setup; players who prefer more head weight may want something else.

4. Best for control

NOX ML10 Ventus Control 3K (2026)

In stock

NOX ML10 Ventus Control 3K 2026 padel racket
ML10 keeps the control award because its round shape, balanced weight distribution and medium touch suit a clear preference: placing the ball with a response you can read. In its court review, retailer Holland Padel also described a medium, fairly direct contact. We would compare it with AT10 if you already play regularly and prefer a round head. Do not buy it expecting a particularly soft beginner racket just because “Control” is in the name.

Best for: Regular players who build points through placement and controlled volleys.

Consider another option if: You want a very soft contact or a substantially lighter racket.

Main trade-off: The medium touch and standard adult weight make it a more specific choice than a basic starter racket.

5. Best lightweight option

Babolat Air Vertuo 2.6 (2026)

Babolat Air Vertuo 2.6 2026 Racket product photograph supplied by the retailer
Air Vertuo earns this place for combining a lower nominal weight with even balance. That makes it a more useful general lightweight recommendation than a light diamond racket that still puts weight towards the head. It uses a fibreglass face and Black EVA. Its nominal weight is below Air Veron's, although their published ranges overlap. Compare individual rackets if a few grams matter to you, and try the Vertuo through a full session to judge whether the lighter setup suits your game.

Best for: Beginners and improving players who want a lighter adult setup.

Consider another option if: You prefer the feel of a heavier racket or a very firm face.

Main trade-off: Lower weight is the reason to shortlist it; it does not guarantee better comfort or stability for every player.

6. Best firm all-rounder

SIUX Electra Pro Shadow Red (2026)

In stock

SIUX Electra Pro Shadow Red 2026 padel racket
Electra fills a specific gap beside AT10: an all-round option for someone who prefers a firmer contact. SIUX describes the Shadow Red as medium-hard, with medium balance and a hybrid or teardrop head. We would shortlist it for an experienced player who wants that response across defence and attack. The 12K label identifies the face material; it does not establish a quality ranking against another racket's carbon. Try this exact 2026 Shadow Red, since older Electra versions use different constructions.

Best for: Experienced players who want medium balance with a firmer contact.

Consider another option if: A soft response is the main thing you like about your current racket.

Main trade-off: Medium balance can suit your handling preference while the firmer contact still takes adjustment.

7. Best for a softer attacking feel

Bullpadel Hack 04 CMF (2026)

In stock

Bullpadel Hack 04 CMF 2026 padel racket
CMF is our choice for a player who wants the Hack's attacking brief with more give in the face. Bullpadel describes this Fibrix version as softer than the standard Hack, which gives the recommendation a useful comparison behind it. The diamond head and 360–370 g range remain, so it still suits someone comfortable with a full-weight adult racket. Compare it with the hard-feeling Coello Pro according to the contact you prefer, rather than treating either as the automatic upgrade.

Best for: Experienced attackers who prefer some give in the face.

Consider another option if: Your main goal is a much lighter racket or you prefer a hard contact.

Main trade-off: The softer face changes the feel; you still need to manage the racket's weight.

8. Best for power

HEAD Coello Pro (2026)

In stock

Head Coello Pro padel racket, product photograph supplied by Padel Market
Coello Pro gets the power award for an experienced attacker who wants mass towards the head and a hard contact. HEAD lists 370 g and high balance, making that preference explicit. We would choose it over Coello Motion only if the extra weight suits your preparation; the Pro name alone is no reason to choose it. Try defence and late volleys as well as overheads. We have not measured it hitting harder than every other racket here.

Best for: Advanced attackers who are already comfortable with a substantial, head-heavy racket.

Consider another option if: You are often late getting your current racket into position or want a soft feel.

Main trade-off: The same weight you want for attacking also has to be moved through defence and fast exchanges.

9. Best adjustable attacking racket

Adidas Metalbone 2026 Ale Galán

In stock

Adidas Metalbone 2026 Ale Galán padel racket, product photograph supplied by Padel Market
Choose the standard Metalbone if you already like an attacking setup and want to adjust its weight and balance. Its soft EVA also gives it a different brief from the hard Coello Pro. In a court comparison published by retailer Padel Market, El 4 Set found the standard Metalbone lively and reported that blocks could travel long. That is worth checking in a trial. AT10 also offers weight adjustment; Metalbone takes this separate place for its diamond shape and head-heavy setup.

Best for: Experienced attackers who enjoy adjusting their racket and prefer a lively response.

Consider another option if: You want a simple first racket or prefer a firm, restrained response.

Main trade-off: A lively response needs care on short shots, and adding weights changes the setup you are buying.

How we choose

We chose these rackets for different buying needs: a first racket, lower weight, control, a firmer feel and several approaches to attacking play. The overall award goes to the option we would compare first for a regular intermediate or advanced player.

We checked model identity and published specifications against manufacturer information. Where useful, we also considered court reviews and exact-model owner discussions. The amount of playing evidence differs between rackets.

These awards are editorial judgments. Prices come from selected retailers and are not a claim to cover every shop.

We review the selections annually and revisit them sooner when a material correction, replacement model or lasting availability change affects the recommendation. Prices and stock update separately.

We choose from rackets listed by our retail partners. Each pick suits the player described. Commission rates do not determine our choices.

How to choose a padel racket

Start with what you want to change

If you already own a racket, identify the problem before shopping. Do you struggle to prepare it in time, dislike the contact, or want a different response on blocks? That gives you something useful to test. If you are starting out, compare a straightforward first racket before committing to a specialised attacking model.

Check weight and balance together

Weight tells you how much the racket weighs. Balance tells you where that weight is distributed. Compare both, then allow for your usual grips and protector. A published range describes possible units, so ask for the individual weight when that matters to your choice.

Treat feel as a preference

Manufacturer terms such as soft, medium and hard are useful starting points, but they are not a shared measurement scale. Shape and carbon labels alone will not tell you how a racket feels. During a trial, include returns, blocks, lobs and overheads at the pace you normally play.

Compare the exact model and delivered price

Check the year, variant and product reference before comparing offers. Team, Pro, Light and CMF can be different rackets in the same family. Include delivery in the price comparison. An older model can be worth buying when it suits you and the saving is real; a new season's name is not enough reason to pay more.

Useful FAQs

Which padel racket should a beginner buy?

Our starting pick is the NOX X-Zero Blue. It has a soft feel and a 350–360 g published range. Compare X-Hero's delivered price too, because its main specifications closely match. Choose a racket you can handle comfortably through a session before paying for a more specialised setup.

Is an expensive padel racket worth it?

Only if it offers something you prefer and will use. A different feel, balance or adjustment system can justify the price after a trial. A professional player's name or a higher carbon K number does not establish that it will suit you better.

Is 350 g a light padel racket?

Yes. It is towards the lighter end of the rackets in this shortlist. Check whether that figure is a nominal weight or the weight of the actual racket. Grips and a protector add weight, and balance also affects how the racket handles.

Does a heavier racket give you more power?

It can suit an attacking player, but extra weight is useful only if you can still prepare and swing the racket well. Coello Pro is here for players who already like a heavier, head-heavy setup. Choose a lighter option if extra weight leaves you late on ordinary shots.

Should I choose a round, teardrop or diamond racket?

Use shape to narrow the comparison, then check the model's balance, weight and feel. A round head does not guarantee a soft contact, and a diamond head does not prove greater power. Compare ML10 and X-Zero to see why two round rackets can suit different buyers.

Is it worth buying an older model?

Yes, if it suits your game and offers a worthwhile saving. Check that the offer, photos and specifications refer to the same year and variant. Compare the final delivered price with the newer model rather than relying on the advertised discount.

How often should I replace my racket?

There is no fixed replacement schedule. Look for structural damage or a lasting change in response after checking the balls and playing conditions. A worn grip or a cosmetic mark alone does not mean the whole racket needs replacing.

Do professionals use exactly the racket sold in shops?

A signature name does not establish that the retail racket has the same specification or setup as the player's match racket. Judge the model you can buy by its own verified details and how it feels to you.
