Legal
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information PadelFormat collects, why we use it and what choices you have.
PadelFormat is an independent digital publication operated from Estonia. PadelFormat acts as the controller of personal data described in this policy. You can contact us through the contact form and select “Privacy or data request.”
Information you give us
When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, selected topic, message and any page URL you provide.
We use this information to read and answer your message, investigate corrections, handle privacy requests and keep reasonable records of the conversation. We do not add contact-form users to a mailing list.
Tournament-tool data
PadelFormat tools save tournament names, player names, settings, draws and scores in your browser’s local storage on your device.
Our tournament tools also offer an optional live-view sharing link. If you choose to create one, the tournament data needed to operate that feature — tournament name, player names, rounds and scores — is stored on our servers and is visible to anyone who has the link. The tool explains this before the link is created, and the organizer can stop sharing and delete the shared copy at any time from the tournament screen.
Professional player and ranking information
PadelFormat publishes information about professional padel players, rankings and results. This may include names, nationalities, public career information, ranking positions, results and licensed or properly sourced images.
We obtain this information from official tours, federations, event organizers, licensed data providers and other credible public sources. We process it to report on professional padel and maintain accurate public records of the sport.
Players and their representatives can request a correction through the contact form. Include the profile URL and an official source supporting the requested change.
Technical and security information
Our hosting and security services may process IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, error records and timestamps. We use this information to deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose errors and protect the service. Contact-form rate limiting uses a shortened, in-memory form of the network address only, and it is discarded within minutes.
Analytics
No analytics or advertising service is active on PadelFormat today. We do not load Google Analytics, advertising tags or third-party measurement scripts, so there is nothing optional to consent to and we do not display a consent banner.
If optional analytics are added later, they will remain blocked until you give consent where consent is required, this page will be updated, and a cookie-settings control will appear in the footer. Analytics would never be used to build advertising profiles or to collect information entered into tournament tools or the contact form.
Affiliate and external links
Some pages contain affiliate links. PadelFormat may receive a commission if you buy something after using one of these links.
The retailer or affiliate network may process information after you click. Their privacy and cookie policies apply once you leave PadelFormat. PadelFormat does not load affiliate-tracking scripts on its own pages before consent.
Why we process information
- It is needed to answer a request or take steps requested by you.
- We have a legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving the website.
- We have a legitimate interest in reporting on professional padel and correcting public information.
- You have consented to optional analytics or marketing storage.
- Processing is required by law.
Who receives information
We use service providers for website hosting, database services and email delivery. They may process data only for the service they provide. The providers used by the running application are:
- Lovable — application hosting, deployment and edge delivery.
- Supabase — database, authentication and storage for published content and shared tournaments.
- Lovable managed email delivery — sending contact-form notifications to our editorial inbox.
We may also disclose information when required by law or needed to protect the website and its users. We do not sell contact-form information or tournament entries.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another recognised safeguard.
Retention
- Routine contact messages are reviewed and deleted within 24 months.
- Security logs are normally retained for no longer than 90 days unless they are needed to investigate abuse.
- Data stored only in your browser remains until you delete the tournament or clear the browser’s site data.
- Server-hosted shared tournament data follows the retention period shown by the tool.
- If optional analytics are introduced, they will use the shortest practical retention setting and no longer than 14 months unless there is a documented reason.
- Published professional records may remain available while they are accurate, relevant or part of the site’s archive.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may have the right to:
- Ask for access to your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Ask for deletion.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Receive data you provided in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
Use the contact form and choose “Privacy or data request.” We may need enough information to verify the request.
You may also complain to the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate or another supervisory authority responsible for your location.
Security
We use access controls, server-side secrets, input validation and other reasonable safeguards. No online service can guarantee complete security.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the website’s data collection, tools, providers or commercial tracking changes. Material changes receive a new review date.
