Our comparison of 88 priced adult model groups describes advertised specifications and offers.

Quick answer

In PadelFormat's catalogue on 23 September 2026, rackets below €100 mostly had fibreglass faces, while €100–€200 already included plenty of carbon-faced models. Higher budgets bought different constructions and features, including adjustable weights. Our comparison of 88 priced adult model groups describes advertised specifications and offers. It cannot tell you how much better you will play with a more expensive racket.

TL;DR

  • Sixteen of the 17 models below €100 had fibreglass faces. An older carbon-faced model also fell into this band.
  • The €100–€199.99 band contained 39 models, including 22 with carbon faces and seven with carbon/fibreglass blends.
  • Paying more did not consistently mean buying a lighter racket. Check the stated weight, tolerance and any added weights.
  • Compare the exact model year and delivered price. A sale price, a manufacturer's shop price and an RRP are different things.

What changed across the price bands?

We analysed the public prices and specifications in our racket catalogue, then checked the examples below against manufacturer pages and direct retailer offers. The sample covers nine brands. It reflects what our catalogue listed that morning, not the entire racket market or what players buy most often.

The biggest visible change was face material. Fibreglass dominated below €100. Carbon appeared throughout the higher bands, but it was already common well before €200.

Table: PadelFormat catalogue snapshot, 23 September 2026. Prices are displayed euro offers, not RRPs. “Mixed” means a declared carbon/fibreglass blend. Coverage means a specification was supplied, not independently measured. Medians are the middle prices within each band. Catalogue and method.

The top band ran from €300 to €900. Its median of €316.95 stops that one very expensive model from giving a misleading impression of where the middle of the band sat. None of these figures measures value for money, because we did not test the rackets on court.

What can you get below €100?

The Adidas Match 2026 was €75 in our snapshot. Adidas lists a fibreglass face, EVA Soft Performance foam and a weight range of 360–375 g for the matching Match Black model. A low price does not automatically mean a low weight. Adidas Match specifications.

An older model complicates any simple rule about price and material. The Bullpadel Icon 2025 was €99.95, with an X-Tend Carbon 12K face confirmed by Bullpadel. That makes it the single carbon-faced model in our lowest band. Its stated 370–375 g weight also shows why a discounted carbon label is not enough to choose by. Bullpadel specifications, retailer offer.

If you are buying your first racket, use this band as a shortlist. Check the actual adult model, its weight and the seller's return conditions. Try a loan or demo racket if your club offers one, then compare it with the model you are considering. Our budget racket guide is the place for individual suggestions. The table here explains the prices behind that decision.

What does a budget approaching €200 add?

It gives you more material choices in this catalogue. The €100–€199.99 band included fibreglass, carbon and mixed faces, so crossing €100 did not mark a clean change from one construction to another.

The Adidas Cross IT Team CTRL 2026 was €143.95 with a fibreglass face and a stated 360–375 g weight. The Metalbone Carbon 3.4 from 2025 was €169.95 with a 6K carbon face and the same stated weight range. Manufacturer pages confirm those material and weight specifications. Cross IT Team CTRL, Metalbone Carbon 3.4.

Their €26 price gap does not isolate the cost of carbon. They are different models from different collection years, with other differences in construction and offers.

Seventeen of the 39 models in this band were labelled 2023, 2024 or 2025. The other 22 were labelled 2026. Comparing a discounted older model with a 2026 model will not tell you how their launch prices differed.

Read the full construction rather than stopping at “carbon”. The face is the hitting surface, while the frame and foam core are separate parts. A carbon frame does not necessarily mean a carbon face. The Babolat example below has carbon frames at all three price points.

What changes as you approach €300?

Three rackets from Babolat's Air 2.6 family make a more focused comparison than unrelated products. These are direct Padel Market offers checked with Spain selected on 23 September 2026. The specifications come from Babolat, not from our own measurements.

Publication check, 27 September 2026: the three exact Padel Market Babolat offer pages used for these 23 September euro prices were no longer live. The prices remain dated observations, not current offers.

The Veron-to-Viper step was €73. The declared face and foam changed, while the nominal weight stayed at 355 g. You cannot turn that price difference into a percentage increase in power, control or match wins from these specifications.

The direct Veron offer was €1 below the €215.95 shown in our earlier catalogue snapshot. We have kept the two observations separate. Both place it in the same price band, but the difference is a reminder to check the seller before paying.

Just above €300, the Adidas Metalbone 2026 was €304.95 in both the catalogue and our direct retailer check. Adidas lists an aluminised 16K carbon face and a removable weight system. Its published weight is 345–360 g plus up to 11.2 g of optional weights. Comparing only the lowest number with another racket's nominal weight would hide part of the specification. Adidas Metalbone details.

If you would leave the racket in one setup, decide whether adjustable weights are worth paying for. With a different face or foam, try the racket before assuming the higher price suits your game.

RRP, shop price and the amount you pay

Our price bands use advertised offers. They do not compare recommended retail prices, and a crossed-out shop price is not automatically a verified RRP.

For example, Adidas's own Metalbone Carbon 3.4 page displayed €156 against a crossed-out €260 on the research date. That is a €104 reduction, or 40% of the displayed reference price. Our catalogue showed a separate retailer offer of €169.95 for that model. These prices describe different listings, not different performance levels. Manufacturer's offer.

Check the model name and year before comparing prices. “Metalbone”, “Metalbone Carbon” and a named player's edition are not interchangeable product names. Colours can also have different offers even when the published main specifications match.

Then check your delivery country. Padel Market says EU and UK orders include destination-country taxes, with the exact order price and shipping calculated for the destination at checkout. Our direct checks used Spain and euros. We did not add delivery charges, apply discount codes or convert Babolat's British shop prices into euros. Prices and taxes.

How to choose a budget from these findings

Start with a spending ceiling you are comfortable with, including delivery. A player with €150 to spend already has several constructions to consider. There is no need to treat €200 or €300 as a qualification you must reach before owning a serious racket.

Use the racket chooser to narrow the options, then compare the exact models. Keep their weight ranges and balance descriptions beside their prices. “High”, “medium” and “low” are catalogue labels, not identical measurements across every brand.

When you can try two rackets, use shots you play repeatedly: a serve return, a defensive ball after the back glass and a controlled volley. Notice which racket you can prepare and place reliably. That is a practical way to assess your preference, not a performance test conducted for this article.

If both suit you, the cheaper one leaves more of your budget for playing. If you prefer the more expensive one, identify what you liked before buying it. A larger number printed beside “carbon” is not a measured score for how well you will play.

How we made the comparison

We captured 102 public PadelFormat racket cards on 23 September 2026. We removed four junior products and grouped five colour or seasonal variants with their matching adult model-year entries. That left 93 adult model groups. Five had no displayed euro offer, leaving 88 for the price analysis.

Each group contributed one price. Where grouped colour variants differed, we kept the lower displayed offer. Different model years and separately named construction editions remained separate. The Juan Lebrón 3.0 and blue FW edition were grouped conservatively because their published main specifications matched. Counting FW separately would make 89 priced groups and nine in the €300-plus band, without changing the material pattern.

We classified the declared face as fibreglass, carbon or a stated blend. These labels do not establish fibre quality, stiffness or durability. Weight coverage means a number or range was present. Balance coverage means a description or balance-point value was present. We did not substitute guesses for missing data or convert weight ranges into measured averages.

The priced sample contained 64 models labelled 2026 and 24 labelled 2023–2025. “2026” identifies the catalogue's model year, not a promise that it is every brand's newest release. Manufacturer checks covered the eight examples discussed above, rather than every specification in the catalogue.

This is original analysis of published catalogue data, with selected direct checks. It is not a representative market survey, a sales ranking or an on-court test. Prices and availability can change, and the live catalogue may differ from this dated snapshot.

Frequently asked questions

Does the weight on the product page describe the exact racket I will receive?
Not necessarily. A specification such as 355 g ±10 g gives a permitted range, not the measured weight of your individual racket. Ask the seller whether they can confirm the unit's weight if you need a particular number, and check whether removable weights are included in the figure.
Can I use these bands to choose a junior racket?
Use a junior-specific comparison. All four junior products were excluded before calculating these bands. Compare a junior model with other suitable junior models rather than using this adult sample as its price benchmark.
Should I order immediately when a model drops into my budget?
Check the exact year, stock, delivered total and return conditions first. Save the product name or code with the offer so you can compare the same racket elsewhere. A discount is only useful if you want that particular model.
