HEAD Extreme One X (2025)

Editorial assessment · 2025 model

The Extreme One X 2025 suits advanced players who want a substantial racket for an attacking game. HEAD lists 370 g and a 270 mm balance, with a diamond head, 12K carbon face and Power Foam. It has the same one-hole concept as Extreme One, but carries 20 g more nominal weight. We would compare the two on repeated volleys and defence as well as overheads.

Best for
Advanced attackers who already prefer a heavier racket with weight towards the head.
Main trade-off
The extra mass may suit your attacking shots, but you also have to move it throughout every rally.

Our assessment

One X or Extreme One?

Both have diamond heads, 12K carbon faces, Power Foam and a hard feel classification. One X is 370 g with a 270 mm balance; Extreme One is 350 g with a 272 mm balance. The lighter model has a slightly higher published balance point, so balance alone does not tell you which will be easier to move.

Choose One X if you prefer its additional mass across a full rally. Start with Extreme One if reducing weight is the reason you are changing rackets. The one-hole design is shared, so it does not decide between them.

Consider an alternative if: You want to reduce racket weight or prefer a soft contact.

Strengths

  • More nominal weight than Extreme One for players who prefer a substantial racket.
  • Extreme Spin provides a textured hitting surface.
  • Soft Cap+ allows the wrist cord to be replaced.

Drawbacks

  • At 370 g nominal, it is a poor starting point if your current racket already feels too heavy.
  • HEAD's Hard feel classification makes it unsuitable for buyers specifically seeking a soft response.

FAQ

Is Extreme One X a lightweight racket?
No. Its nominal 370 g puts it towards the heavier end of rackets. It is 20 g heavier than the 350 g Extreme One before any difference in added grips or protectors. If weight is your main concern, start the comparison with Extreme One.
Is this Extreme One X a 2025 or 2026 model?
HEAD identifies reference 223105 as Extreme One X 2025. Some retailer URLs and sales labels use 2026 for the same reference. Match the code when comparing offers; the later label alone does not indicate a different construction.
