Head

HEAD Extreme One (2025)

Editorial assessment · 2025 model

The Extreme One 2025 is for advanced players who want a lower-weight attacking racket with a firm response. It combines a diamond head, 12K carbon face and Power Foam, with 350 g nominal weight and a 272 mm balance. The one-hole face is its most visible feature. We would include it in the comparison if your current attacking racket feels too heavy.

Best for
Advanced attackers who prefer a lower nominal weight but still want a hard feel and high balance.
Main trade-off
It reduces total weight compared with many attacking rackets, but the hard feel and high balance still require a good fit with your game.

Our assessment

What the one-hole face tells you

The single hole is part of HEAD's design. It does not establish how well you will control a block, lift a defensive ball or finish an overhead. Those remain useful shots to try before choosing it over a conventionally drilled racket.

Check reference 223115 when comparing offers. HEAD identifies it as the 2025 Extreme One, although some retailer URLs or sales labels say 2026. The older 223043 is a different version, so its specifications should not be copied onto this page.

Consider an alternative if: You are buying a first racket or want a soft response.

Strengths

  • Its 350 g nominal weight is below the 365–375 g range common among attacking models.
  • The 12K carbon face and hard feel provide a firm-response option at that lower weight.
  • Extreme Spin adds texture, while Soft Cap+ allows the wrist cord to be replaced.

Drawbacks

  • The hard feel is unsuitable if your priority is a soft contact.
  • Players who prefer more mass through the shot may favour a heavier model after a comparison.

FAQ

Why does Extreme One have only one hole?
It uses HEAD's ONE construction, with a largely solid hitting face and one hole by design. It is not a missing-drilling defect. That construction does not guarantee a better racket for you; compare its response and handling with a conventionally drilled model.
Is Extreme One suitable for a beginner because it weighs 350 g?
It would not be our first recommendation. The lower nominal weight comes with a diamond head, high balance and hard feel aimed at advanced attacking players. Evo Extreme is also listed at 350 g, but its fibreglass face, Soft Foam and beginner positioning make it the better starting comparison.
