How to run a round robin

  1. 1. Add the teams. Each team is two players who stay together. Type them in or paste one team per line.
  2. 2. Set courts, format and time. The schedule check shows total matches, rounds, rests and the estimated finish before you start.
  3. 3. Play in the fixed order. Each round lists who plays on which court and who rests.
  4. 4. Confirm each result. Enter games per set. Corrections are always possible.
  5. 5. Finish and share. Show final results, export CSV, print, or run a rematch with the same teams.

Example: four teams on two courts

Four teams make 4 × 3 ÷ 2 = 6 matches. Each round fills both courts with two matches, so the event takes 3 rounds and every team plays 3 matches with no rests. With 30-minute matches and 5-minute breaks that is about 1 hour 40 minutes. On one court the same six matches take six rounds, and each team rests three times.

Scoring options

  • One set: first to 6 games with a two-game lead, or 7–5, or 7–6 after a tie-break at 6–6.
  • Best of three, match tie-break: two sets; at one set all a tie-break to 10, won by two points, decides. It counts as a set but not as games.
  • Best of three full sets: a full third set is played at one set all.

These are organiser settings for a social or club event, not an official rulebook. Pick one before play so everyone knows how the table is decided.

Round robin or Americano?

A round robin uses real match results between fixed pairs. If your group wants short rounds with points added up, use Team Americano. For more on choosing a format, read the guide to padel tournament formats.

Questions about the Round Robin generator

How many matches does a padel round robin have?
Teams × (teams − 1) ÷ 2. Four teams play 6 matches, five teams 10, six teams 15 and eight teams 28. Each team plays every other team once, so every team plays one match fewer than the number of teams.
How many rounds does it take?
With enough courts, an even number of teams needs teams − 1 rounds and an odd number needs as many rounds as there are teams, because one team rests each round. With fewer courts the generator spreads the same matches over more rounds and shows the exact count before you start.
What happens when a team has to rest?
Rests come from an odd number of teams or from having fewer courts than matches. A rest is not a match: it never counts as a win and adds nothing to sets or games. Every team plays the same number of matches.
How are teams ranked?
By matches won, then set difference, then game difference, then games won. Teams level on all four share the place, shown as “2=”. Head-to-head is not used because it can go round in circles when three or more teams are tied.
How does a match tie-break count?
With the best-of-three and match tie-break setting, the tie-break played at one set all is won at 10 with a two-point lead. It counts as one set won, but its points are not added to the game totals.
What if a pair has to leave early?
Withdraw the team. Its finished results stay in the table for both sides, and its remaining matches are marked cancelled instead of being given to the opponent. The standings note that some teams then have fewer matches.
Can I correct a result?
Yes. Open the match, choose Correct result and confirm the new score. The standings recalculate straight away, even after the final results are shown.
Do I need an account?
No. The generator is free, saves the tournament on your own device and restores it after a refresh. Players can follow a view-only live scoreboard through a link or QR code.
