StarVie Raptor+ (2027)

Editorial assessment · 2027 model

The StarVie Raptor+ 2027 combines a teardrop head, medium balance and 3D Carbon with M-EVA Balance. We favour it for experienced players who want a firmer all-court racket with adjustable weight distribution. The current red edition has a different brief from older round Raptor models.

Best for
Experienced players who prefer firm contact in a versatile teardrop.
Main trade-off
The firmer construction asks you to generate your own pace on compact defensive shots.

Our assessment

Test the response at low speed

We would give a short block and a defensive lob priority when trialling Raptor+. Those shots reveal whether the firm response matches your normal swing, before you focus on attacking potential.

Power Balance lets you change weight distribution. Keep the first test simple and adjust only after you can identify something you want to change. Its 350–370 g range is another reason to compare the actual unit, not just a demonstration racket with the same name.

Raptor+ or Eternal?

Raptor+ uses 3D Carbon and a teardrop head; Eternal uses 18K Carbon Hybrid and a hybrid head. Both have medium balance and M-EVA Balance. We would treat them as alternatives to try rather than declare a winner from the carbon labels.

Consider an alternative if: You want a very soft response or expect an older round Raptor shape.

Strengths

  • Teardrop shape with medium balance.
  • Adjustable Power Balance system.
  • 3D Carbon face and rough finish.

Drawbacks

  • Firmer response may not suit a short passive swing.
  • Older Raptor impressions do not describe the new shape.
